As people, workforces, organizations, and societies become increasingly international, the importance of global training and perspective has never been higher for educational leaders in nearly every environment.

This specialization focuses on educational phenomena, practices, institutions, and organizations within different societies and cultures. It includes an exploration of international organizations, policies, initiatives, and challenges faced by international and global practitioners. Further, it prepares you to apply the concepts of organizational training, development, and leadership to the design, management, and evaluation of programs, institutions, and organizations. You’ll also examine issues, challenges, and opportunities related to culture and society while learning the best techniques for mediation and conflict resolution. Finally, this specialization explores the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in international and global contexts to enhance your strategies and policies as an educational practitioner and leader.

In this introductory course, you’ll analyze the practices of international and global education while investigating instructional and technological practices. You’ll also evaluate current education theories, critique comparative analyses, and assess the benefits and challenges of international and global education. Finally, you’ll synthesize the concepts of culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to educational practices in different countries.

In this course, you’ll evaluate comparative educational trends and explore the influence and relevance of culture on global education. Further, you’ll assess methods to promote culturally responsive pedagogy and andragogy in educational research and practices. You’ll also analyze intercultural and multicultural issues with respect to educational diversity, equity, inclusion, and opportunity. Lastly, you’ll learn to appraise the quality and competitiveness of international education programs.

A review of conflict, mediation, and resolution as they relate to diverse educational environments. You’ll evaluate various strategies to achieve mediation and conflict resolution while considering diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. You’ll then apply these techniques to achieve collaborative educational environments and synthesize the concepts of conflict, peace, and citizenship to understand and improve international and global education.

This course evaluates international and global policy initiatives and analyzes the influence of globalization on educational change. You’ll also determine organizational policy practices for implementing international education and relate policy development to organizational growth and change. Finally, you’ll critique organizational strategic planning as it concerns globalization and international education.

In this course, you’ll critique theories on ethical practices and interpret the ethical implications of international and global educational practices. You’ll assess the ethical implications of technology and validate the ways culture contributes to the ideas of truth and values. You’ll also learn to develop ethical practices that affect diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice within international and global education.

In this capstone course, you’ll synthesize leadership skills and behaviors that enhance your professional competencies. You’ll evaluate leadership theories and practices relevant to international education and promote leadership skills for effective organizational functioning. You’ll also learn to advocate for leadership practices that support diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in international and global education.
