Leaders with high EI are aware of and can control their emotions. They thoughtfully manage interpersonal relationships and are more likely to pick-up on the feelings of others and when needed, adapt their communication for better understanding. Virtual leaders need a heightened awareness of their employees’ emotions, paying close attention to communications as well as silences for indications of potential issues or concerns.
