Academic Success Center

Contact Us: asc@nu.edu

Our center provides innovative services and resources that set the example for providing worldclass support to online students and faculty. The department aligns its resources and services to meet the academic skill and competency needs identified by faculty as crucial to completing a course of study at NU. These support areas include written communication, quantitative reasoning, research methodology and designs, data analysis, and legal writing. The ASC’s holistic tiers of support are designed to provide each student with a personalized, meaningful learning experience. In addition to a robust collection of resources, students have access to highly qualified coaches. All coaches in the ASC have either completed their doctoral or J.D. degrees or are currently pursuing a doctoral degree.

The Commons

Contact Us – Meet us in the Commons!

The Commons provides students, faculty, and staff with a platform, a vision, resources, coaching, and support to develop an engaged network of scholars supporting and contributing to each other’s success, their education, and their profession. The Commons platform is currently a communitybased virtual environment accessible through D2L Brightspace for our one-to-one programs, providing faculty and students a dedicated space to collaborate and engage with one another across a variety of communities outside of the courses. The Commons hosts specific communities organized around schools, departments, degree programs, specializations, and other areas of connection. The Commons was created to remove the feeling of isolation that often occurs when learning online and to foster an engaged community of support and connection, amplifying our impact and empowering community members to create value for each other.
